Call for 200 Brighton & Hove businesses to claim free access to Zellar
Brighton & Hove is the latest city to sign up to our ‘Get Zero Get Zellar’ programme – a nationwide initiative designed to help local business kickstart their sustainability journey, cut energy bills and reduce carbon emissions.
As part of the initiative, 200 local businesses are invited to claim their free access to Zellar’s online sustainability platform to enable businesses to reduce their carbon emissions by 33% and save up to £4,100 in energy bills.
The programme is aiming to help local businesses contribute towards the council’s drive towards becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
The offer is available to the first 200 qualifying small or medium enterprises in the city who apply and is being supported by the city’s Business & IP Centre Sussex (BIPC), based in Jubilee Library.
The benefits of Zellar
According to British Chamber of Commerce research, 9 out of 10 SMEs are not aware of their carbon emissions, and struggle to make headway when it comes to sustainability.
Zellar makes it easy for businesses to make a start and take climate action. It helps them to calculate and understand their carbon emissions and then build an achievable plan to reduce them, based on their size and sector.
Zellar is already helping over 1,000 UK SMEs to plan, activate, measure, report and share their business sustainability journeys, and reduce their energy costs.
Supporting Brighton & Hove business
Councillor Leslie Pumm, chair of the Equalities, Community Safety & Human Rights Committee, said: “This is another great resource to support local businesses in the city from the BIPC in Brighton & Hove.
“Zellar can help your business become more sustainable and save you money – please do have a look.
"And if you’re not aware of the BIPC and the free support it can offer your business, please do have a look at that too!”
Gary Styles, founder and CEO of Zellar, said: “We’re excited that Brighton & Hove has chosen to become the latest city to join our Get Zero Get Zellar programme.
"This is a brilliant opportunity for Brighton & Hove businesses to join a community of over 1,000 UK businesses that are reducing their emissions and bringing down their record high energy bills.
"And, of course to help Brighton & Hove reach its goal to become carbon neutral by 2030. Based on previous ‘first come first served’ programmes we’ve run, I’d urge business to apply early to avoid disappointment.’’
