100th business signs up to Midlands Get Zero Get Zellar programme

Birmingham-based manufacturer, Jutexpo has become the 100th business to sign up to our nationwide Get Zero Get Zellar programme.

Jutexpo completes Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP’s Get Zero Get Zellar programme - which has advanced regional sustainability by sponsoring 100 local businesses to start their sustainability journeys on Zellar.

Joining Zellar is going to help local businesses across a diverse range of sectors, from medical to publishing contribute towards the West Midlands’ 2041 net zero target.

Here's what the 100 participating businesses within the Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP area achieved: 

  • 45 tonnes CO₂ emissions reduction  

  • £55,589 savings in energy costs 

  • 397 sustainability actions undertaken 

  • 194 volunteering hours logged 

  • £575,323 invested in green technology 

  • £9,210 invested towards biodiversity and offset projects

Serena Bacuzzi, Regional Net Zero Projects Officer at the Midlands Net Zero Hub said: “Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP is thrilled to have completed the Zellar Pilot scheme, which has offered 100 businesses in the region 1-year free access to the Zellar platform and got them started on their sustainability journey. The scheme overall has already brought savings to region equal to 45t CO₂e. It has been a pleasure to work in partnership with Zellar to make this happen.”
