Lord Gary Porter Joins Zellar’s Advisory Board

Gary Porter CBE joins Zellar to develop SMART councils programme.

Zellar, the SMART sustainability company, today announced that Lord Gary Porter has joined its advisory board, to help expand its footprint across the public sector.

Gary will play a critical role in helping Zellar to develop its SMART Councils programme, which helps councils tackle climate change, reduce costs and track and report their progress.

Recently bestowed with the Lifetime Legend award at the 2023 Local Government Information Unit (LGIU) Cllr Awards, Gary has a long and impressive history of public service. He served as Leader of South Holland District Council for 20 years, and is also a former Chairman of the Local Government Association (LGA).

“I am delighted to join Zellar’s advisory board,” said Lord Gary Porter. “I’ve found their passion, purpose and ambition to play a key part in solving this most important issue to be contagious, and I’m fully onboard with helping them to make it a reality.’’

“We are thrilled to welcome Gary to our advisory board,” said Gary Styles, Zellar’s founder and CEO. “There’s a reason he has achieved the status of Lifetime Legend amongst his peers.

Not only is he a visionary with a deep understanding of local government and a proven track record of accelerating the type of change that the climate crisis needs. He’s also a unifying force with the rare ability to bring people with him along the way. We are confident that his insights and guidance will be invaluable as we continue to execute our mission.’’
